CTK is a proud member of the Lutheran Junior Honor Association (LJHA)

The CTK chapter of the Lutheran Junior Honor Association (LJHA) was established in 2022 to recognize students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, and discipleship. Membership is open to students in grades 5–8; however, students must first meet specific eligibility requirements before they are invited to apply. Criterion includes:

The application process includes submitting a record of the student's service and leadership activities, as well as an essay reflecting on the student's discipleship and faith journey. Students who choose to apply are then considered during a formal membership review meeting.
Membership in the LJHA is one of the highest honors that can be awarded to a student. The organization recognizes the whole student—one who demonstrates excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, and discipleship. Membership is not simply an award for past accomplishments; it is a commitment to continued growth and achievement. Students who are inducted into the LJHA are expected to uphold the organization's high standards and to continue serving as positive role models within their school, church, and community. Through their actions, character, and faith, LJHA members strive to reflect the values and mission of the association each day.

A major tenet in memberhsip consideration to the LJHA is how the applicant is living out one's Christian faith through a relationship with Jesus Christ. Members have demonstrated participation in worship, prayer, Bible study, as well as exhibit Christian-like conduct both inside and outside of school hours.

Members of the LJHA have demonstrated academic excellence, a commitment to learning, and consistent effort in their schoolwork. They maintain strong academic performance across all subject areas while showing responsibility, perseverance, and a positive attitude toward their studies. These students strive to do their best, complete assignments thoughtfully and on time, and serve as role models for their peers through their dedication to learning and personal growth.

Our LJHA members consistently present a positive influence on others, take initiative, accept responsibility, and set a Christ-centered example. They lead by their words and actions, demonstrating integrity, respect, and compassion in their daily interactions. Whether working in the classroom, participating in school activities, or serving their community, they strive to encourage and support those around them. Through their leadership, they inspire others to make positive choices, work toward common goals, and live out their faith in meaningful ways.

To maintain active membership, LJHA students complete two chapter service projects annually, along with participation in school-wide ongoing service initiatives. This commitment reflects the organization's emphasis on Christian service and leadership.

The CTK Chapter of the Lutheran Junior Honor Association is very proud of its members and will be steadfast in its dedication and activity within the organization.
