Grades 6th-8th; Preparing for High School and Beyond

While our middle school may share some similarities with a traditional public school, the educational experience we provide is truly distinctive. Students are challenged academically while growing in their faith and developing the skills needed for success both inside and outside the classroom. Our goal is to create an environment where students are engaged, supported, and excited to learn.
Our dedicated teaching team works collaboratively to ensure that students receive attention and guidance as they develop essential life skills including organization, time management, problem-solving, note-taking, and effective study habits. We also place a strong emphasis on character development by fostering effective communication, conflict resolution, empathy, and respect for others within a Christ-centered environment.
Paired along with core academic courses, students participate in weekly classes in art, music, physical education, and computer technology. They also have opportunities to expand their interests and talents through extracurricular programs such as School Ensemble, Choir, and Band. Students who demonstrate excellence may also be eligible for membership in the Lutheran Junior Honor Association (LJHA), one of the highest honors awarded to middle school students.

CTK provides a wide variety of opportunities for middle school students to explore their interests, develop their talents, and grow as leaders both inside and outside the classroom.

Our Panther Athletic Program offers a range of competitive sports for students in grades 4–8. Throughout the school year, students have the opportunity to participate in basketball, cross country, volleyball, soccer, track and field, and cheerleading.
CTK offers Band, School Ensemble Choir, Bell Choir, and weekly music instruction, allowing students to develop their creativity and musical talents. In addition, students participate in weekly Spanish, computer technology, and physical education classes, and have regular access to our school library to support their academic growth and love of learning.

A hallmark of the CTK experience is the emphasis on service and servant leadership. Middle school students regularly participate in service projects that support organizations throughout the Downriver community as well as ministries within our church and school.
